A few days ago I shared my son’s first birthday party.  The theme was “first trip around the sun” and you can see more pictures here.  I made most of the decorations myself and wanted to share with you how I did some of these projects.

Cupcake toppers are very easy to make and are a great way to incorporate your party theme.  If you are doing a blue and green party or a  “first trip around the sun” party like I did then today is your lucky day because I am providing a free printable!

For this project you will need:

• Card stock
• 2″ Circle paper punch
• Scissors
• Tape
• Toothpicks
• Free printable (at the end of this post)

1. Download the free printable found below and print the toppers onto card stock.  Then cut the page into two long strips. If you cut along the edge of the squares it will be easier to line up your paper punch.
2. Center the circle in the middle of your paper punch hole and cut out your topper.  You could also cut out the toppers with scissors but the paper punch is not to expensive (especially if you use a Hobby Lobby coupon) and it will save you tons of time.
3. Lay your topper face down and tape a toothpick to the back.  Tada!! Your party is now instantly 10 times more festive! 🙂
