I hope that you all had a great weekend. I know I did. My Parents came down for the weekend and stayed with my Grandparents who live nearby. On Saturday my Mom spent the day with me and Henry. We had fun shopping, baking bread and working in Henry’s room. I’ve had these decals for several months and just now got around to them. I had been putting it off because they seamed like they would be a pain to put up but they really weren’t that bad.
On Sunday Henry woke me up at 5 am. I guess he just couldn’t wait to share his love for me on this special day. I wasn’t quite ready to get going so we cuddled up on the sofa and Henry drifted back off to sleep (that is very rare!). We went to my Grandparents church in the morning and then to their house for lunch. We celebrated not only Mother’s day but also my Grandpa’s birthday.
As I thought about Mother’s Day I decided that I don’t really feel like a Mother yet. I’ve only been doing this job for five measly months and haven’t had to do any real parenting. The thought of trying to raise my Son “in the nurture and admonition of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4) is intimidating! Thankfully I can rely on God’s help!!
The other thing that came to mind as I thought about Mother’s day is how thankful I am for my Mom. She is a kind, compassionate, loving, giving, encouraging, wise, God fearing woman and I am proud to call her my Mom!
Now for a few pictures…..
Best Mother’s day present ever!
Grandma’s finger tastes sooooo good.
I have no idea what Grandpa is talking about but I find it very interesting.
Happy first Mother’s Day to you Emma!
Thanks 🙂
