I did a little brainstorming session to come up with a list of fun new activities for my ten month old and decided to share them with you over the next month in a series called 20 Days of Playing With Baby. None of these ideas are Earth shattering, supper cool, never been done before activities but maybe you haven’t tried them before or maybe they will help spark a fun new activity of your own.

For this activity I used:
- Cotton balls
- Water
Todays activity explores the difference between wet and dry. I gathered up five cotton balls and soaked three of them with water. I didn’t wring much water out of the balls because I wanted water to drip out when Henry squeezed the cotton ball.
He would pick up different dry and wet cotton balls and show me each of them.
Soon Henry discovered that a wet cotton ball would rain down water when it was squeezed!
Early on he put a dry cotton ball in his mouth and immediately spit it out with a funny look on his face. Later he put a wet cotton ball in his mouth REALLY wanted to suck on it. I would take it out of his mouth but was obsessed with putting it back in so I decided that this little activity had come to an end.

This activity is great for developing your child’s: fine motor skills, sense of touch, curiosity and reasoning skills.
