I did a little brainstorming session to come up with a list of fun new activities for my ten month old and decided to share them with you over the next month in a series called 20 Days of Playing With Baby. None of these ideas are Earth shattering, supper cool, never been done before activities but maybe you haven’t tried them before or maybe they will help spark a fun new activity of your own.

For this activity I used:
- Empty oatmeal tub (small cardboard box would also work well)
- Variety of ribbons
- Knife
- Large needle
I found this variety pack of ribbons in the scrap booking section at Hobby Lobby. It included 12 ribbons of different colors and textures and was perfect for this project.
Using a sharp knife, I poked small holes into the empty oatmeal tub. I tried to line up the holes so they would be the same height and opposite each other. I then used a large needle to thread the ribbons through the holes, left a few inches of ribbon on each side and tied knots in the ends. Now Henry has an endless supply of fun, colorful ribbons to pull and tug!
At first we held the tub for him to help provide some resistance when he pulled the ribbons.
But he did eventually hold the tub himself.
Of course he had to bang on the tub like a drum.
He also thought it was great fun to watch the tub roll and then chase after it.

Thanks so much for sharing all of your ideas! I can’t wait to try these activities with my daughter!
It is simple but useful. Thank you for this idea.
