I don’t know about you, but I love Pinterest and use it everyday to collect ideas and inspiration. From time to time I would like to share some projects with you that I made using tutorials found on Pinterest.
Today’s Pinterest project is my notebook pen holder that I made using the instructions on Katie’s site Made to be a Momma.
I like to take this notebook with me to church but can never manage to hang onto my pen. A purse would be a good spot to keep my pen but I don’t want to lug one more thing since I feel like caring a kid, a diaper bag, a clarinet case, a stack of Bibles and a notebook is more than enough. Usually my pen would end up lost in the car or in the bottom of the diaper bag and I didn’t have it on hand to take notes during the service.
When I stumbled across this pen holder I knew it would be the perfect solution to my lost pen saga! What made this project even better is that it was quick, easy and only required a scrap of fabric!
Be sure to click HERE to see Katie’s tutorial. The one change I made to my pen holder was to add an inch to my fabric length; allowing for more fabric to fold in on the ends. Both of our notebooks were 8 1/4″ and while she cut strips that were 8″ x 2″, my strips were 9 1/4″ x 2″.
After I finished my notebook pen holder I came across this notebook cover on The Ribbon Retreat with a built in pen holder. I love the colorful fabric!
