Friday Five {Vol. 13}

Friday5

I’m back!  Did you miss me?  July absolutely flew by.  All totaled we were away from home for almost half of the month.  The days that we were home I was busy trying to get caught up and then get ahead before leaving town again.  I had great intentions of catching up on blog posts this week but things did not at all go as planned.  Between the broken air conditioner, being sick and trying to comfort a super fussy and clingy teething baby I was pretty miserable.  To be honest, I did not feel like doing this post today.  But, I figured it would be good for me to stop and reflect on the positive aspects of the week.  There are always things to be thankful for!  So……..here are five things that made me smile this week.

1.  Warm humid air.  Having a broken air conditioner in the middle of the summer when you live in the hot and humid south can be a blessing in disguise……as long as you happen to be sick.  It is like having a humidifier pumping out steam in every room of your house!

2.  Persistent husband.  Fixing the air conditioner was not exactly in our budget so Stephen did lots of researching and trouble shooting.  I would have given up long before him but in the end he was able to fix it himself.

3.  Generous neighbor.  We have a neighbor who used to work in HVAC.  He has all kinds of spare parts laying around and it just so happened that he had the (expensive) fan motor that we needed.  We are so thankful that he was more than willing to give it to us for free! 🙂

4.  Generous friends.  We have some kind friends who on a whim invited us to join them for dinner.  It was nice to spend some time with them.

5.  New little tooth.  Henry’s first tooth popped through today!

So what made you smile this week?
